THE CHILCHOS
We invite you to meet the ACP's largest country, in which its residents to protect their forests of cedar and mahogany of more than 20 meters high and its archaeological remains in the cliffs of the lake of the Condors. The kindness and hospitality of its inhabitants, along with the beautiful scenery, you will be one of the best experiences of your life.
Tourist attractions in the ACP and the surrounding area
Lagoon of the Condors and their mausoleums, the Leymebamba Museum, archaeological sites of The Congona, The Pouch, Devil Wasi, Twirl and Cataneo; and hostel Tajopampa.
Representative species
In the ACP you can find different species, among which include the spectacled bear, the woolly monkey tail yellow, hummingbird tail of a spatula, the soft tail dorsirrufo among others. It also has a forest, montane wet tropical rainforest with ferns and a large number of orchids.
How to reach
Two hours by road paved from Chachapoyas to Leymebamba and from there, 10 hours of walking/riding to the Valley of The Chilchos.
